Day 4: Selflessness

Today started off like a usual day. I had to pick my sister up from an educational fair through their school. After that, we took a trip to the and used some of our gift cards from Christmas. We ate lunch together and chit chatted for a little while, and then went back home. I then had to go to work, and it was very busy (I work at a pizza parlor). Tonight, I helped a lot of older people carry their things to the car, despite the line waiting at the counter. Also, a woman had called and let me know her baby was sleeping, which was why she was whispering. I told her when she got to the store, to pull the car up out front and I would give her the food and change to her total. She was so happy and very appreciative to see their was still kindness in our world today. When she said that to me, I was so happy that I was able to make someone else happy..even if it was just a little something. After work, I came home and found out my Aunt was home from the hospital. She donated one of her kidneys to her husband on Tuesday morning..talk about selflessness. She's amazing, strong, and brave. I'm so happy that everything went well, and she is back home. My uncle is coming home tomorrow, so I'm staying the night at my Aunts in case she needed anything in the middle of the night. I did not want to leave her alone, after everything she has sacrificed to save her husbands life. Again, I'm do grateful to call someone like her my family..I love you Aunt Joan.

Day 3: Basketball

One of the loves of my life is Basketball. I play 5-6 times a week, for the college I attend. I also help coach my sisters team, and the girls are in 7th and 8th grade. All of the girls have great personalities, and different things to offer to the team..including the strengths and weaknesses. Today, I went to my practice, and we scrimmaged against the boys team. We lost by 3 points, but we played great..and probably could have won if we played another quarter! After my practice, I went straight to my sister's game. We versed St. Michael's, and they were a pretty good team. The girls played great at points in the game, and they played bad too. However, they played their hearts out, which is the only thing I ever ask of them to do. We ended up winning 22-15. Besides a few of their individual and team mistakes, the girls played great and I saw a lot of improvement in their game. First, my sister Tori played great. She had 13 points, 4 blocks, and 21 rebounds (offensive and defensive). I haven't seen her jump so high for a rebound in my whole life! I'm so proud of her. Second, her best friend Jess played her best game of the season tonight. She played SO tough, aggressive, and smart. She was stealing passes, boxing out and rebounding..and even had 2 offensive rebound put-backs! I was very impressed at how she played tonight. Third, Bri and Renee, our two guards, also played very well! They were dribbling past the defense, driving to the basket and drawing fouls, and they both even hit a 3-pointer! So very proud of them as well. In addition to the few people I mentioned, every single one of the girls accomplished something tonight that was out of their norm! I'm so proud of everything they are achieving, and I can not wait to finish out the season with them!

Day 2: Only the strong survive

Today was an interesting day, filled with a lot of different emotions. After waking up, and fulfilling the normal routine of eating, washing the dishes, walking the dogs, etc..I found out something that made me feel extremely hurt and disappointed. Here's a little background story so everyone understands why I was feeling how I felt. Recently, my ex-boyfriend (JD) was away at Basic Training in the Army. After writing him one letter a day, sending tons of packages, and even picking him up from the airport on his holiday break, he decided that he did not want to be together anymore. That happened two days after he was home, and we spent every second together up until that point. I did not see it coming, at all..probably because he was talking about proposing to me for Christmas! But that is besides the point. At first, I was really, really upset..and now, about 2.5 weeks later..I'm starting to get through the day without crying. So he really screwed up, and my parents were very disappointed in him, and extremely upset with how someone could treat someone like that (I spared out the details of the breakup because I didn't want to embarrass him too much, lol!). My dad even sent him a very nice text message, asking him to stay away from me and to not contact me at all. So JD did, for the entire two weeks he was home. However, as JD was heading on the bus back to his training..he decided to send me a text. The conversation got absolutely nowhere, and I didn't talk to him for an entire week (the next time they were allowed to have their phones back). So I received a text message that said: "Thank you for sending the letter I wrote you back to me." I had no clue what JD was talking about, because I never received a letter from him. Which brings me back to my point..the moment of complete betrayal. I assumed my dad/mom sent the letter back to him, without telling me I received one from him. I was so upset and angry at them, that I didn't even look at them at dinner tonight. I finally asked them about it, and they told me there was no letter in the mail..they even swore on their lives. I believed them, and was so happy that all of the betrayal I was feeling was no longer there anymore.

In that moment, I decided a few things..
1) I should feel the most betrayed by JD..not my parents
2) There is nothing he can say that would ever allow me to forgive him/take him back
3) I need to move on with my life, without him in it.

I found this quote that summarizes my heart in its entirety:
"Watching you walk out of my life, does not make me bitter or cynical about love. But rather, it makes me realize that if I wanted so much to be with the wrong person..how beautiful it will be when the right one comes along." --Anonymous

Day 1: The beginning

Hello everyone!

Today, a very close friend of mine, Gabrielle Taflinger, inspired me to create a blog! She showed me hers over the past years, and all of the amazing day-to-day experiences and memories she made! It was great to be able to look back and cherish all of the wonderful memories! So, that's why I decided to make a blog! I want to be able to look back and remember all of the tears and laughs..everything. The journey begins here!
