One of the loves of my life is Basketball. I play 5-6 times a week, for the college I attend. I also help coach my sisters team, and the girls are in 7th and 8th grade. All of the girls have great personalities, and different things to offer to the team..including the strengths and weaknesses. Today, I went to my practice, and we scrimmaged against the boys team. We lost by 3 points, but we played great..and probably could have won if we played another quarter! After my practice, I went straight to my sister's game. We versed St. Michael's, and they were a pretty good team. The girls played great at points in the game, and they played bad too. However, they played their hearts out, which is the only thing I ever ask of them to do. We ended up winning 22-15. Besides a few of their individual and team mistakes, the girls played great and I saw a lot of improvement in their game. First, my sister Tori played great. She had 13 points, 4 blocks, and 21 rebounds (offensive and defensive). I haven't seen her jump so high for a rebound in my whole life! I'm so proud of her. Second, her best friend Jess played her best game of the season tonight. She played SO tough, aggressive, and smart. She was stealing passes, boxing out and rebounding..and even had 2 offensive rebound put-backs! I was very impressed at how she played tonight. Third, Bri and Renee, our two guards, also played very well! They were dribbling past the defense, driving to the basket and drawing fouls, and they both even hit a 3-pointer! So very proud of them as well. In addition to the few people I mentioned, every single one of the girls accomplished something tonight that was out of their norm! I'm so proud of everything they are achieving, and I can not wait to finish out the season with them!
